Whether it’s a new build or existing house he offers services and assistance right from your initial ideas all the way through to building consent and is available where needed during the project build stage.

Where he can see improvements to be made he will offer up advice and ensure the building will work in terms of site, council restrictions as well as flow, aesthetic and practicality to meet the budget.

Local to Whakatane, Whare enjoys spending time outdoors with family and dogs.

He is available as a senior designer to meet your project needs.

Project Manager

Ko Adam tōku ingoa, ko Ngāti Pikiao ōku tīpuna, kei te noho au ki Kawerau.

He has re-joined the team after a 15-year hiatus working predominantly in the manufacturing and heavy industry fields.
Adam prides himself on being an industry professional with a high standard of ethics in both life and business. He approaches everything with a final solution mindset, not seeing problems only unrecognised solutions.

He thrives in openly collaborative team environments, and he enjoys both leading and contributing to a dynamic team effort.

Outside of work he loves spending time with his wife and his little grey cat Bizzy. They are currently renovating their 1960s house, designing and building furniture. He also loves spending time on, in and under the sea.

Hamish Macdonald

Architectural Technician

Hamish’s desire to create products and spaces lead him to Victoria University where he completed a degree in Industrial Design.

Further years of travel and living abroad piqued his interest in both food and architecture and on returning to New Zealand he built and ran a crumpet food cart while upskilling with a diploma in Architectural technology.

In 2020 with his partner Amy, they moved back to Whakatane where they spend their free time renovating and building houses.

Since starting at DD2 Hamish has enjoyed implementing his practical knowledge and love of design to create and detail clients’ ideas.
